Best Invention!
Wes has always complained about trying to snap on Ashers clothes and sleepers, anyone with a wriggly baby totally gets it. I was shopping at McNally Robinson the other day and I saw these baby sleepers with magnetic fastners. If they had Ashers size I would have totally splurged on one. Check it out here.

Birthdays
I am not much of a party planner so for Ashers first birthday I turned to One Charming Party to come up with an idea. They had the cutest little monster party theme. Asher doesn't have too many little buddies his age so we didn't have any games or goodie bags, but I did make the adorable monster cupcakes.
It's hard to believe a year has gone by since this little man entered our lives. Becoming a parent is such an amazing thing and no matter how many books you read or how prepared you think you are nothing prepares you for the love you feel, the sleep you loose, the mistakes you make, the fun you have, the mom jokes you all of a sudden start to make...I could go on and on. I can't wait for what this next year has to bring.
One of my best friends Dorota went into labour on Ashers birthday and 33 hours later on the 30th of June gave birth to Ashers new best friend Rocco!

ch-ch-ch-changes
My life has simply been to busy to write anything. I am now back at work and have been for a little over a month now. The transition has gone surprisingly smooth for both Asher and I. I am so blessed to have my parents and in-laws take care of Asher while I am at work and that has taken a boat load of stress out of it.
Being back at work I can equate to riding a bike; I feel like this job is a skill I never loose. Good thing, Bad thing I don't know. Since being back I have applied and interviewed for a promotion. (fingers crossed)
My wedding is pretty much planned now I just have to wait until next year, this means I am constantly changing my mind about things though. I think I have picked 3 different bridesmaid dresses and still am not sure of which ones to go with (I want my girls to look goooood!) The things that are set in stone are...

Wes is still trying to convince me to have a destanation wedding. Not sold. However if I did I would like to get married here or here.
I would love to have these people do my wedding...don't think it's in the budget though.
Asher is now almost 14 months old! (gasp) He also has a vocabulary of about 30+ words my little genius! He had an awesome 1st birthday party that I have to post about.
For now I will leave you with some pictures of my summer so far!

Proud Sister
My little sister Lorilynn is in creative communications at Red River College and she chose to do a video montage project using Asher. The result is nothing short of amazing!
Even though she annoyed the heck out of me when we were kids I am always amazed at her talent. (I am not an emotional person and I once cried watching her at cheerleading practice)

Engagement
I never thought Wes would be able to surprise me the way he did because I always ask him a million questions about everything he does. On our trip in California he pulled one on me though!
April 5 Wes and I decided to take Asher to the beach one more time before we went home. Wes was determined to go to this secluded "beach of a thousand steps" we were driving and driving down PCH and finally he found it. So down we go to this beautiful spot literally a thousand steps to get down to the beach (totally worth it though) We set up our blankets and umbrella and go to take some pictures with Asher by the water. Wes hands me Asher and kneels down to take some photos and says "hey, what's in Ashers pocket?" It takes me a couple minutes to get the beautiful Birks Bell out of his pocket, I open the box and inside is the most beautiful ring. Wes already on his knee, asks "will you marry us?" I said "of course" about 10 times (Wes had to ask me if this meant yes, to that I said of course)
Back at our blankets we had some champagne and I started calling my family and friends!
